🔥 OHIO BURN BAN REMINDER 🔥The Oak Hill Police Department would like to remind everyone that Ohio’s seasonal open-burning restrictions are in effect during the months of October and November.🚫 NO OPEN BURNING BETWEEN 6:00 AM AND 6:00 PM.If you are planning to burn during these months, please make sure you are following all applicable Ohio open-burning regulations and local requirements.A few important reminders:• 🔥 Do not burn during the restricted 6 AM–6 PM hours.• 🍂 Only burn materials that are legally permitted to be burned.• 🚫 Do not burn household garbage, plastics, tires, rubber, or other prohibited materials.• 💨 Be mindful of smoke and weather conditions so your fire does not create a hazard for neighbors, roadways, or nearby property.• 🧯 Always have a means of extinguishing the fire readily available.• 🚒 Never leave a fire unattended, and make sure it is completely extinguished when you are finished.These seasonal restrictions are intended to help reduce the risk of fires and smoke-related problems during Ohio’s spring and fall burn seasons. Ohio regulations restrict open burning during specified daytime hours in October and November. Please help us keep Oak Hill and our surrounding community safe.

🌧️ HIGH WATER & FLOODED ROAD SAFETY NOTICE 🚔The Oak Hill Police Department is reminding everyone to use extreme caution during periods of heavy rain and high water.🌊 Never drive through a flooded roadway. You may not be able to see how deep the water is, and the road underneath may be damaged or washed away.🚧 If you encounter a flooded or barricaded road:• Turn around — don’t drown.• Do not drive around barricades or road-closure signs.• Slow down and use extra caution on wet roads.• Be alert for debris, standing water, and changing road conditions.• If possible, avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.Remember, it only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep away a vehicle.Please stay safe, watch out for your neighbors, and never risk your life trying to cross a flooded roadway.— Oak Hill Police Department🚔 Serving and Protecting the Village of Oak Hill
